The Programme
for the Protection and Development of the Škocjan
Caves Park was adopted in the National Assembly
on 20 December 2006, and shall be valid for a five-year
period, i.e. from 2006 to 2010. The Programme comprises
a comprehensive assessment of the state in the
Park, protection and development goals as well
as ways of achieving these goals; an assessment
of the situation in the Park’s area of influence
and determination of measures aimed at improving
and preventing adverse effects; ways of implementing
the tax policy adapted to the Park’s development
and other incentive policies, subsidization, compensation
and incentive lending policy with criteria and
procedures foreseen, funds necessary and resources
of these funds; spatial determination of planned
protection and development interventions in the
Park and identification of activities suitable
for the Park and guidelines for their development.
Nature conservation
is one of the Park's missions.
